    My cooker hood light went bang! I replaced the bulbs, still no light – the extractor is still working, so no fuse blown, apparently – but, I have just noticed a 3 pin plug up inside the chimney and I wonder if this is the fuse for the lightbulbs? But, can’t get the chimney off – is there a knack? The model is a black Diplomat HJA2443. Any help and advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    There isn’t a separate fuse for the bulbs I’m afraid, that’ll be the plug for the cooker hood itself.

    It’s likely to be either the cooker hood function switch that’s popped, listed here:

    Or, less likely but possibly the lamp holder that has failed, listed here:

    Oh, thanks for this. Would the extractor still work if it was the cooker hood function switch? As, it does. Can the light part of the switch system malfunction without affecting the other buttons?
