ParticipantNot sure if beater bars is the correct term to describe the 3 plastic bars which clip into the drum casing inside the machine. All three came loose the other day after washing one too many pairs of plimsolls. Please could someone advise on the correct part number for replacement bars ?
Thanks

They’re called drum paddles or drum lifters, the ones you need are 50249701009 which are listed here:

And, it’s really not advisable to watch shoes of any kind in a washing machine. 😉

Thanks K, I’ll get right onto ordering them.
Interestingly there is a setting on this machine for Sports Shoes 40degs. We will be following your advice from hereon though, thanks.

I bought these 18 months ago which came with a small retaining screw each.
Now, I admit to a bit of laziness in that I decided wrongly perhaps not to fit them. Instead to rely on the paddles sliding into place just like they were on the machine as it came from the factory. I.e. They came with no screws fitted either.
Unfortunately they still keep coming off so I’m going to bite the bullet and try and fit the retaining screws. Is this going to be relatively straightforward once I get the back off the machine ? Or can I even expect to do this from the bottom of the washer ?
Thanks for your help so far 🙂

Hmm, just realised that there’s an outer casing to the drum that holds all the water in. Wonder if there’s an access flap of some sort that would allow me to put the screws in without taking the whole drum out ?
It looks to me as though the paddles were not fixed properly in the first place before the drum was inserted into place. And we decided not to bother with a warranty this time too.
Sigh…

Access via the sump hose aperture……

The paddles slide into the slots ok without falling out. But they’re easy to slide back out again so wouldn’t last without the retaining screw. I’m wondering about fixing a waterproof screw in the space between the end of the paddle and the wall of the drum to hold them in place.
Other ideas I’ve had involve using Araldite to stick something there as well. Does Araldite hold up well in the washing machine 90c environment without degrading ?

Thanks again Martin, we successfully fitted all the retaining screws the other day.
I don’t know if you recall but you were kind enough to give me support and encouragement back in 2006 when I replaced the bearings on my previous WM. Thanks again.
