ParticipantGood morning,
When a normal wash programme is selected, the pre-soak light flashes briefly, (not selected) before immediately jumping to the anti-crease finish cycle.
I’ve checked the operation of, and different programmes, and the above problem remains.
The water inlet and level is fine, (some programmes ok) the machine drains, spins, and washes perfectly on certain cycles.
However, the customer mainly uses a 40 degree cotton/mixed wash
programme, and this is the one that causes the problems.I suspect the electronic control module… but would welcome any thoughts on this matter.
Thank you,
Jon

my next question would be which cycles does it work on ?
does it heat ok ?
does motor reverse ok ?any other light flashing when it goes to the end ? ( ie fault code )
what it boils down to is look for the obvious first. if it works on some wash programmes its less likely to be the board

When I visited ascertained that m/c works on at least two “common” wash programmes, but unreliably. i.e. 40 cotton or 40 degree quick washes would cycle correctly on two occasions when selected, yet when tried again would create afore-mentioned prob’s.
Noticed “check inlet” & “check drain” lights illuminating, but not in any sequence, and only intermittently.
Will test heater.

also check inlet valves. the rubbers inside the valves split and the inlet water speed slows down causing probs
normally you can remove valve coils and unscrew valve body to check then find a qualtex valve that comes apart the same way and swop the tops. works a treat and a hell of a lot cheaper than mieleDave

Have now tested heater, which is fine, as are inlet valves.
May have to refer customer to Miele, due to obscure nature of fault/s.
M/C works correctly on most/all selected wash programmes, then other times will quickly abort same selected programme… Pre-Soak light flashes briefly, before jumping to Anti-Crease/End.
Also, Check Inlet & Check Drain lights flash at random for a short period.

Thanks Dave,
Will check… didn’t realise that could cause such an obscure problem.

my theory is they could be making sometimes but not others + sparking upsetting electronics
anyway its worth checking

Have now checked carbon brushes.
Both are around half worn, and free in their holders etc.
Back to the drawing board!Jon

Module appears fine as far as I can tell.
Unsure as to how to check for “dry joint” other than visual inspection.
Kind regards,
Jon
