Recently my 6 year old BFI620 has started to drip water from the bottom of the door. After dismantling the door assembly it appears to be because the lower seal has detached itself from the lip of the bottom tray. Poking about a bit has revealed that as a spare it seems only available as part of the inner door assembly, which is not attractive costwise. :eeek: There also seems to be some suggestion that it could be clipped to the tray with additional clips which would certainly seem to be better than just relying on its inherent grip on the lip. The water level inside the machine when the door is opened seems to be well below the lip level (about half an inch deep in the tray).
Questions…..
The seal seems to be a simple enough extrusion which is fairly easily removed from the door- is it available by the length from anywhere?
Do these seals lose their elasticity / grip on lips with age (which would explain my problem)? If so would a few added clips (thinking of lengths of the hard plastic push on “spine” used for quick binding of sheets of paper into a booklet) help? Or perhaps a good clean and a dose of Evostik or silicone sealant?
Is the running water level reasonable?
any comments appreciated,
Chris
