    Call to the above machine, 2 months out of guarantee.

    The fault is intermittent where the drum fails to turn. The customer said it’s worse with a heavier load.

    I have tried changing the motor capacitor without any joy.

    The motor checks out OK.

    When you press the start button the machine buzzes, the drum rotates for about a second then tries to change direction but makes a loud buzzing noise and appears to lock up. AS soon as the machine is switched off the drum rotates freely.

    Has anyone come across this before?

    Sounds like a dodgy relay… If this model has one fitted of course!

    Thanks for the sugestion Martin,

    I have double checked on Mediator and can’t see a relay listed as a separate component and didn’t see one when I looked at the machine so get the feeling this could be the main PCB!
