I have a Zanussi Zi918/12KA Fridge-Freezer several years old: after defrost about a month ago a loud gurgling noise is coming from inside the fridge and freezer, and the compressor is running continuously. Have replaced the thermostat but it made no difference. the freezer is very cold and the fridge slowly reaches -8 deg C.
The new thermostat is set at minimum (1) but does not seem to switch off the compressor, suggesting the new thermostat is faulty….?
In any case the gurgling is very annoying – can anything be done about it?
Re: Fridge-Freezer running continuously and gurgling loudly
Thanks. Could you explain why the compressor is not switched off by the thermostat when it reaches 0degC or thereabouts, as the thermostat seems to be the only thing that controls the compressor?
Is there any way of detecting a leak and refilling, or is it a write-off, which is an expensive loss after only a few years service?
