    Hi

    I have a problem with a Liebherr 7802 freezer. The temperature displays are normal however the freezer has defrosted (including the bucket full of ice!) Is this a known problem and simply a case of replacing a sensor somewhere? Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

    The unit is the one with the freezer underneath and a wine cooler on top. The model details i have obtained from the unit are:

    Model: Liebherr 7802 346-01
    Type = SKES4200
    Service Number = index20/00/NR/NO/9985232-00
    Appliance Number = 23.524.608.2

    Thanks

    hello, i think you have your details mixed up.
    SKES4200 is a fridge, probably the unit that is attached to your freezer/wine cooler.
    look in the freezer on the left hand side, bottom shelf for details.
    it’s probably a SWNES2900. the service number is important on liebherr fridges, can you supply that?

    cheers.

    Ah, yes. Sorry. Correct details are:

    Type = SWNess 2900 Index 20a/001
    Service Number = 9985228-01
    Appliance number = 23.474.549.4

    So it seems like it might actually be the refrigeration unit itself as originally, the wine cooler said 5 degrees and
    the freezer -18 but both had no refrigeration. I switched the wine cooler off and as I did so the display went to 20 degrees which I believe was the actual temperature. On the freezer there is a ‘superfrost’ option. I tried that but it
    turned straight off. I then turned the freezer off.

    About 15 minutes later I turned both back on and the read wine cooler 21 degrees and freezer had no display just ‘–‘. I’ve just tried them again and they read the same.

    Hope this gives some more information.

    Thanks for any help you can provide.

    the wine cooler and the freezer work from seperate systems, ie seperate compressors.
    to have system faults on both at the same time would be unheard of.
    it’s possible that you have a board fault or maybe even a wiring fault. strange question but, do you have mice?
    your username would suggest that you’re in a rural location. (please don’t hazard a guess at what mine might suggest!)
    i’ve seen a lot of instances where mice have chewed through wiring at the back of the appliance. maybe worth a look.
    if there’s nothing obvious, then it looks like engineer time.
    where in the country are you?
    have you tried the engineer search facility on site yet?

    cheers.

    Thanks for your reply. Very helpful.

    Not particularly rural. Based in West Sussex. I did try the engineer search but nothing in the area was found for this manufacturer. I guess i’ll have a trawl around and see if i can find a local engineer.

    hello, if you’ve tried the engineer search with no success, then i would suggest that you contact coolectric on
    08444 122 655.
    they’ll put you in touch with an engineer in your area, experienced with the brand.
    experience with the brand is a must with every premium brand appliance, not just liebherr.
    too many brands there i think!

    cheers.
