    Hi guys,
The above oven has a dead short somewhere and trips the electrics as soon as you turn it on from the mains. (no oven function needs to be selected) the ins reading is at 0.00 on the n-e but 775 on the L-e side. I’ve tried disconnecting everything to no avail. I’ve had a few selector switches blow on these bit there is no obvious blow marks on that this time. Has anyone come across this before? Could it be the timer?
    Thanks in advance.

Have you completely disconnected the oven before testing?
Leaving it wired in(even if switched off at the wall) can give you false readings like dead shorts from neutral to earth.

Hi, yes it’s out and I’m
testing just from the connecter block.

Hi guys, does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?
The 7a connector on the selector is going to the earth tag of the fan element, is this normal? if so it must be the selector as there is continuity between that 7a and the live / neutral parts of the selector.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

Have you checked the wiring loom visually to see if there are any wires chaffing on the chassis.

cannot imagine any circumstance that this would be correct. someone been in there before maybe? Is it a normal earth coloured wire?

Yes, i think someone may well have been at it before me,
Its a white with small black crosses on it, not the normal material but the sort of cotton coated material – all others like it are going to elements etc.
