ParticipantJust found the ING Direct advert with the washing machine repair man. I love the way he sighs through his teeth:-)

The thing is, all three repaired at a reasonable cost and good for a few more years.
However, re the stupid advert, when did anyone last pull a drain pump out of the top of a machine. :rolls:

It wasn’t the top of the machine, what you missed is that he had unplumbed the machine then turned it upside down. I have tried this technique on many ocassions but each time the repair was unsucessful. The drum would smash into the timer when I turned it the right way around;-)

I’m not aware if anyone in the trade successfully, overcoming the effects of gravity, and succeeding it this method. P45 years ago used to turn Bosch dishwashers upside down to access the heater and pump IIRC? And a good many of our public posters have confessed to ‘flipping their front-loader’. If only everyone kept their ‘transit bolts’ and the drum fixed tight to the cabinet once more could you even consider doing a 180. Though the thought of all the residual water inside the machine suddenly going belly up would no doubt lead to more problems both during and after I’m sure.
The only appliances I ever ‘flipped’ we’re spin dryers and absorbsion/ammonia gas fridges and each time the repairs were successful. I only ever flip a washer into a skip, and that method I heartily recommend! 😀
