ParticipantHi, My 12 year old machine started to kick the drum instead of rotating in some parts of the cycle but would still wash and spin OK, but now it won’t wash or spin, just kicks the drum. I cleaned the 3 connectors on the pcb and it did start to spin but when I put it back together it did not spin and I noticed some sparks around the IC mounted on the heatsink on the pcb. Anyone know what part this IC is or know where to get a replacment pcb (Europarts don’t seem to have exactly the correct pcb part)? It’s marked DMPJ (or DMPU) 9 R5 H7 546019701 003. It’s a pity to scrap it if it’s fairly simple to fix.

Since yesterday, I have discovered one of the 2 7W 6.2Kohm resisters on the pcb is o.c. and there is a burn mark next to the anode of D16 – looks like it had arced to the heatshield. The triac MAC 223 A8 looks ok with a test meter. I can get another resistor but anyone know where to get the triac (or similar TXE 10L60)?

Hi
Have you found the cause of board failier, its a bit pointless repairing board first,if its caused by motor or element fault, and board blows again.

Hi, Thanks for the response. I don’t think it’s a motor failure as it had been kicking at some points in the cycle for some time but would still wash & spin. After the arcing which may have been due to some water dripping down when I turned it over it has not worked and I have replaced the o.c 6K2 resistor which I thought might be the problem to no avail. Can’t seem to locate the correct replacement pcb. Apart from buying a new w/m, I’ll continue to look for the fault. I can get a triac from China! (I’ve had ICs & TV LOPT from there before & they seem to be reliable). Regards.
