I’ve had the ISE 10 for a month and it’s really good – quick, efficient, deals with up to 8kg loads, spins as dry as a centrifuge.
But recently it’s started to be very noisy when it’s spinning a heavy load of 5 to 6kg spinning at 1200 to 1600.
It can’t be the bearings as they are new and it doesn’t make a sound when I turn the drum or at lower speeds.
I don’t think there’s any washing stuck.
It looks and sounds like the drum is banging against the casing, despite the suspension. It’s worse when there’s a heavy load, and it’s worse when the load’s point of balance is off centre and the drum lurches around before trying to reset the load. But today it was making the banging sound with only 5kg of washing (weighed when dry 0 I’m a bit obsessive), and the drum was well balanced, spinning neatly in the middle.
Should I just carry on and ignore the banging, which is getting annoying; or should I stop and ring an engineer before it gets worse?
Baby due in 4 days. Need to be able to wash nappies etc.
