ParticipantGot my new ISE 288 Eco delivered on Thursday. I’ll be phoning the dealer tomorrow (Monday) with a couple of niggles but wondered if in the meantime there was any knowledge hereabouts?
First off the machine is installed for hot and cold fill and is set to use hot water. But I’ve noticed it doesn’t seem to be taking in any hot – at least the copper pipework and hose for the hot feed remain cold to the touch after the machine has filled and begun washing.
So far we’ve only done 30 degree washes and wonder if the machine only hot fills at higher temperatures? I thought it used hot fill intelligently and only took as much as required to attain the correct wash temperature regardless of setting.
Second problem is the hinge-out detergent compartment no longer opens whether the machine is on or off, or whether the main door is open or not. This does appear to be a problem with the catch.

Hi Geoff,
Just remember that the hot water will depend on your supply and the distance from the source as per the installation instructions and info on the ISE website regarding installation requirements. In other words, it could just be filling with water at ambient temperature depending on the installation.
The installation is absolutely vital in getting the best from hot and cold fill on an Eco.

Thanks K.
There’s about 20′ of pipe between the HWC and the washing machine hot fill hose. However our kitchen hot water tap is about 18′ along the same pipe (ie just 2′ before the washing machine) and it is always our habit to run the tap until the water is hot (to do dishes) before turning it off, then switching on the washing machine. So there’s only the volume of a 2′ length of 15mm pipe before the gate valve and hot fill hose which is where I’m checking the temperature by touch.
Will resolve with dealer/installer shortly and advise….
