ParticipantHello to all. I have a Blomberg CFFN311 fridge-freezer. I had it stored in my garage for a few months and when I cleaned it up and installed it in my utility room in the house, it did not work properly, a warning light remained on. It went off for a day but came back on again. I put it back in the garage and have left it running with a thermometer in the freezer which is now showing -15C and the warning light is off. why doses it appear to work in the garage? Difference in temp? I thought frost free freezers needed to be in a warmer environment. Can anyone help here please…..I dont want to throw it out….

First question how warm is your utility room? if it is colder than your garage this could be your problem at this time of year. If it has only one thermostat in the fridge compartment it will remain off till the room warms up, do you have an orange switch inside the fridge this operates a heater to help in cold enviorments.

Thanks for the reply. The utility room is definitely warmer than the garage, but not as warm as the rest of the house. I should have added that on start up, the pipe leaving the compressor and running up to the heat exchanger was very hot. There is no orange switch that I have seen anywhere in the fridge/freezer. Do you think the unit wouldhave settled down in time? I want to use it over Xmas but dont feel I can rely on it after its one-off hiccup (by the way, I inherited this unit, it was definitely working in a warmer house but I dont know anything about it).

This was not the best unit ever made. The pipe should be warm to hot while it is running.
I still think that when you had it in the utility room it was to cold perhaps an extra cold spell especially if it seems ok now.
We always get calls at this time of year for this fault.Kirk

Re this model of Blomberg.
We have inherited one of these models and would like to know where replacement shelves can be bought from as some are missing.
Any ideas?
2 freezer draws (large)
2 Door shelves (for bottles)
