    I have a Zanussi Dishwasher DWS949 circa 5years? old.

It no longer empties at the apparent end of cycle, and water left in bottom is “foul” rather than looking like it came from a final rinse.

    Contents seem clean enough.

Water does get pumped out if you go to the very start of another cycle.

Is there some non-return value that may have given up, or am I likely to be looking at a fault with the timer/sequencer?

How easy/difficult is it to get at the pump unit to inspect it ? 🙄

    thanks in advance

First thing to check is if the drain hose is fitted to the sink waste pipe as is often the case…if this is so then there may be a blockage in it. You could disconnect the machine drain hose from the sink and run it into a bucket to see if drains correctly. If it does then you know the blockage is in the sink waste pipe.

P.S. DON’T empty the bucket down the sink until you’ve reconnected the machine drain pipe! 😉
