    Hi all

This one is beginning to annoy me as I haven’t managed to find the cause yet but the situation is this:

When cold the cooker has an insulation reading of approx 28M Ohm with no individual part below 6M Ohm, however when the oven has been on for 10 minutes the reading drops to 0.2M Ohm – I have rechecked all the elements and motors when hot and they don’t change in reading, I have also tried disconnecting the thermostat and selector switch but it doesn’t appear to make any difference either, I have even tried moving the wires and can’t get a change – What might I be missing? Has anyone had one like this before and what did it turn out to be as I am out of ideas.

    Thank you

    Jem

    It will be the element.

Turned out that Bazza was right and that it was the element although I am sure that I metered the element at least twice when it was hot without the fault showing, also turned out that this one is a hybrid of the two wiring variations shown in the service manual.
