Hotpoint WML 730p door problem

Have a Hotpoint WM730p W/M electro/mech door mech that sometimes works. It clicks open one time and not another time. customer says if put on another wash it might work and then might not…is it just a case of changing door mech…

I would be checking the motor, brushes and especially the motor plug for bad contacts. The plug contacts are very flimsy and I have often replaced the motor plug complete with any spare ones with good old AMP tags that I can make fit.
