ParticipantWhen nearing the end of the long and final spin the vibration cause the machine to move across the floor. I have checked that the concrete block is secure and the two springs are good. Could it be that the suspension assembles under the tub require replacing and if so is this a difficult job requiring any special tools, also should both assemblys be replaced. The tub bearings were replaced approx 3 months ago. Any advise appreciated.

Its easy to test the suspension units in the same way people used to test car shock absorbers.
Remove the plug, take off the lid and press down on the drum and release it quickly. The drum should move down and then back up smoothly just once, it should not ‘bounce’.
TBH weak suspension units usually cause the machine to bounce around at the start of the spin rather than cause noise at the end.
No special tools required, its a physically difficult job to do though, I do it by removing the front panel then its a bit of a wrestling match. If the two suspension rods are perfectly clean and in good condition and do not flop about then you can get away with just changing the bottom half of the suspension units.
They should be changed as a pair and its cheaper to buy THIS kit than to buy to two single units.

Drum shaft could be broken on one of the arms .bearing housing loose in outer drum.

One would have hoped that if the main bearings where changed 3 months ago that the condition of drum support would have been checked at the same time.
However if the bearing housing is loose you will see a thick grey sludge down the back of the drum as opposed to the rusty marks you get from a bearing failure.
