I now have two F & P Smartdrive washers that are inoperative.
Basically the same problem: Motor controller fault – which is very expensive to repair since new boards cost about Aus$180.
I now wish to retrieve both of the motors (& possibly other spare parts)& offer for sale.
However it’s is not obvious how to separate the motor from the driven bowl assembly.
I see the splined drive inside the bowl, part of the seal removed, & a plastic hex nut which apparently allows the motor case to be removed.
I’d very much appreciate some instructions on how to complete this task & whether special tools are required?
    Thanks

There’s a post at http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/la … 16123.html that details how to dismantle the rotor / bearing assembly.
