I have now replaced the thermostats at the back – but it seems to be exactly the same…

If I bash it on the RHS panel at the top toward the front the orange light will flicker on – eventually with enough ‘gentle persuasion’ it will stay on and keep the heat on for the drying cycle.

It is getting worse and worse – as expected 😆

Is there another ovious place to look for a failure that might be overcome by repeated thumping?

Thanks for any help or bright ideas

Sounds liike a bad contact on the dryness module, likely to need a new pcb, rather expensive the last time I looked. 🙁

OK – thanks iadom – it’s useful to know if it’s basically come to the end of it’s life.

It is wearing out in other ways too – and has done a good many years service. So about time to say goodbye rather than messsing about too long with it.

Any particular recommendations for replacement? Would like condensor, silver/graphite and largish capacity at least 6kg…

    Cheers

Don’t get another Hotpoint whatever you do.

Bosch or Zanussi possibles for mid range but my esteemed colleague Don is the man in the know TBH.
