Rarely see these things but have a relative who inherited one in a house purchase, the 10A fuse on the board has blown, motors look ok with clean comms and barely worn brushes but didnt have my megger with me to test for leaks.
I fitted a new fuse and ran the machine for a second on spin but was rewarded with a low growl and no motor action, switched it off before it blew the replacement fuse.

I seem to recall something about the bridge rectifier on the panel giving this fault, anyone advise please ?

    Thanks,

    Eddie.

if it blows fuse then bridge rec is likely

take board out and check with multimeter

cheap repair but board is a bit of a pig to get out and in again
