We inherited an Indesit WDG1195WG washing machine of indeterminate age when we bought a house some months ago.

Recently noticed leaking during the dry cycle. Running it on wash alone is fine–no leaks. Water appears (toward back of machine) only after it has been drying for some time. Appears to be a slow drip.

Water is clear and cold, suggesting it is from the condenser. Pump cycles periodically and sounds like it is pushing out some water.

Any suggestions where to start looking? (We recently moved to the UK from the USA, so this sort of washer-dryer technology is a bit of a mystery to me). Thanks.

    Hi OP,
Several known problems with these machines.

    1) Long hose from fill valve to condenser housing cracks, splits and chaffs with age.
    2) Where the condenser housing joins the back of the tank is a so and so for weeping water.

Best bet is to get the covers off, set the machine off and watch.

Turn the power off before you stick your fingers in………

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

Thanks, P45. I’ll take a look after the holidays and report back. (We are about to travel out of the country for the holidays, so I am grateful for your comments that suggest it is a “treatable” problem rather than a catastrophic one.)

    Regards,
    OP
