ParticipantWent to a Tricky-Bendix BIW 104W washer (914 213 007) – the tenant said it would “randomly” stop somewhere (on any wash pgm)
and the “end” light would flash in groups of five. I ran it – all functions working Ok. I meggerd the heater (OK) removed the carbons (loads of wear left, and commo looking OK), pumpout time was fine, fill levels OK, etc. It did not fault whilst I was there (typical!).
Only ref. I found on WG was “5 flashes = problems with The Motor/Motor Brush heads/PCB/” Motor seemed fine however.
Could some kind person send me the flash error codes and the diagnostic procedure pretty please? 😀
Hopefully, thanks in advance!September 8, 2012 at 8:29 pm #380908Mr Phil

Hi myfil
Is this the model that uses the EWM1100 electronic control. If so I have the full test PDF. Pm your email address and I’ll send you it.

This is the EWM1000, I had a similar problem about 3 years ago, the machine always stopped at the end of the wash program before going into rinses but if turned off could be restarted straight away and passed all diagnostics. Ended up changing main board, heater, pump, valves and carbons but never managed to clear fault and in the end suspected toc in motor but due to cost customer decided to purchase new machine. Let me have your email and can send the diagnostics.

Thanks Colin, Phil sent me the PDF already. Customer is now deciding whether to continue with diags or buy new. I also wondered about an intermittent tacho fault. It looks OK, not come loose. I s’pose magnet could be loose inside…

Just out of interest, is it the FHP motor? Have been having same sounding problem with an AEG.
And new info has just come in while I was writing this post!
