KeymasterDear All,
I am having a few probs with my hoover washing machine, as it does not drain the water. I have checked for various blockages in the hoses (from drum to pump, pump to drain) and a wire was found, but did not rectify the problem once assembled. The washing machine fills with water and spins around but no water is drained. Is there a filter with this particular model and if so could someone please indicate where this is located and how l should clean it?
Any thoughts of resolving the problem would be gratefully received,
many thanks

ParticipantCharlie,
We will be unable to give specific advice for you problem without the model numer. Check the control panel and inside the door or around the door seal surround. Some Hoovers have a filter behind the front kick panel, which can be removed and cleaned. You say that you have checked the hoses; have you actually stripped the cover off the pump to see if there is a blockage?
Can’t tell you much more, if you’re not sure of your own abilities get some help. You can check the Directories section for a local UKW engineer or pop your postcode up and someone will pick up on it.
Whatever you do, Pull the plug first.

The model Number is Hoover AB130.
I have taken off the pipes and check them thoroughly. l did find a wire inside the hose from the tub to the pump. I did try and look at the pump itself, but how can l ensure that this is clean from any grim or blockages, without removing it?
thanks in adance,

Hi Guest, firstly, to check for blockages, lower the waste pipe into a bowl, if the water runs out freely, then you can assume you do not have a blockage. This really only leaves ‘a pump problem’, going by what you have already wrote, I gather that you are capable of removing the pump. Check that the impellor isn’t obstructed, if it is free of obstructions, you can assume it is goosed, go out to a spares shop, buy a new one and fit it.

Hiya,
water does flow out, once it is lowered into a bucket, I will have a look at the pump in a while, l just wanted to ensure that if there was a filter with this particular Hoover model?? so l could clean it before concluding that the pump is knackered..
thanks
