ParticipantHi,
I’m about to buy my first (budget) dishwasher and have decided to go for a Bosch purely on reputation, they make great dishwashers right?
Anyway, I’ve narrowed it down to 2 models both £329, both are almost identical in every way.
http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/product-com … SMS40T32GB
Has you can see there’s not a lot to separate them, there are a few differences that wouldn’t really sway me one way or the other, like time delay, one can be set from 1-24 hours, where as the other is 3, 6 or 9 hour delay. Another difference is the largest loadable dish upper basket, one is 22cm the other 27cm, both have a lower basket height of 30cm.
Another difference that caught my eye is the ‘Maximum Accepted Water Hardness’ the SMS40C02GB is rated to 50’DH while the SMS40T32GB is 35’DH… What that means i don’t know, what i do know is that the water hardness in my area is classed as Hard.
The most noticeable difference between the 2 is the EcoSilence BLDC drive on the SMS40T32GB model. A quick google reveals “The Ecosilence Drive is the latest power source for Bosch’s latest range of Logixx Washing Machines. The new brushless powerplant reduces frictionis faster, quiter, durable, powerful and more energy efficient than anything previously developed. Using similiar technology to that found in wind turbines Bosch has achieved maximium power with minimium energy loss.” I guess the same applies for dishwashers too?
However, Energy consumption (kWh) are both the same at 1.02 kWh with an estimated annual consumption of 224 kWh based on around 270 cycles, so i can’t really see the advantage of the EcoSilence BLDC drive, maybe its just quieter! Is it more reliable?
Any advice would be much appreciated, Bosch or non Bosch, oh i almost forgot to add one important fact. I wont be using this dishwasher 2 or 3 times a day, more like 2 or 3 times a week.
Thanks.

Why do you say that? You have selected 2 models and wanted to know the differences and then answered this yourself. All i could say was that either will do, not a lot else i or anyone could say other than Agree with your choice. Sorry i couldnt say more, but your choice is a good one.
