ParticipantEvening chaps, have any of you ever bothered to change the bearings on a Haier HW-C1470?
I’ve rescued one from certain death and it looks like the drum will split but is it best to lift the tub out from the top or does it come out the front like a Hotpoint?
Thanks chaps

out the top mate
bearings are around 50p each and the seal around 20p
good luck though, its worth more to weigh it in, and a lot less hassle

LOL!!!
Thanks for the advice, I must admit I wouldn’t normally bother with one of these but a friend gave me it to repair and re-sell and I already have buyers queuing up for it because it’s grey and in fantastic cosmetic condition. Must admit I was pleasantly surprised when I realised that the bearings can actually be changed. Thanks again for the advice.

Let us all know how you get on. Probably going to become a common job soon enough.

Well I had a good look at it today and found it easier to get the tub out through the front.
Once the tub was out it split very easy, much like a Hotpoint really.
The seal is an odd size though, I’ve ordered the parts but don’t expect to put it back together until Monday at the earliest

I don’t think I would dare try to sell one of those!

I know I’m showing my ignorance. But can you explain what you mean by ‘weigh it in’ TX

“Weigh it in” is what us Northeners say when advising you to take it to the scrap yard.
When you know that Rob is ex Comet and has had the misfortune to have worked on lots of these you know to take what he says as good advice. I wouldn’t soil my hands on one, let alone sell it on. :rolls:Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
