ParticipantI’m not very computer savvy, and just wondered if anybody could tell me how to link my website to uk whitegoods.
Also wondered if it is possible to obtain van stickers with uk whitegoods logo.September 20, 2012 at 1:51 pm #381569kwatt

Okay so, there’s a few things that you can do to get more from UKW but all of them do require some effort on your part. But, it can be worth the time.
You can insert a link into your signature and that’s the most effective and easiest way but, to maximise the benefit of that, answering posts in the public forums with an embedded link will do wonders for you with our friends at Google, Bing et all.
If you look down the bottom of the forums page you will see who’s online. You will almost always see a Google crawler, Alexa, Bing and a myriad of others indexing the public forums. All those crawlers can see the public forums and will index the link back in your signature.
If you have trouble with it, send me the text and link and I’ll put it into your signature for you.
Also, remember the engineer search and pages that are available to WTA members too.
There’s a truck of info on this stuff in the WTA forum and elsewhere on the forums by Ally and myself primarily and, most likely, we’ll end up talking about it at the meeting next week as well once more.
For van stickers….

Those are subsidised prices!
I didn’t realise how damned expensive those things were to get done and then I put them in a cupboard and forgot about them after I had them done a few months ago. I wasn’t happy.
There are also some WTA stickers which, I think, some of the guys will have at the meeting next week but they are fairly small and not cut vinyl so that they can be used on folders, vans and so on.

I thought that this was answered as above.
Or can you explain what what it is that you are trying to accomplish a bit more?

Sorry Ken,but like I said, I’m not very computer savvy.
It’s the bit about inserting a link into my signature, that I don’t know how to do.
I have tried logging into my account to see if I can add it from there, but I don’t see any option to add website link.October 1, 2012 at 1:27 pm #381573kwatt

It should work now but you had the signature disabled in your preferences by the looks of it and some things you have to do from the user control panel, I can’t do it for you.
There are options in your user control panel in the “Profile” tab, then “Edit signature” part that will allow you to alter and edit your signature as you need.
