ParticipantHi
Can someone give me some advice. This is a second hand machine and the front cover on the door has already come away so I don’t want to spend a lot of money on it.
I stupidly loosened some congealed soap in the drawer earlier but didn’t scoop it out. Then I put on the machine and it immediately started leaking from the drawer. I took the drawer out and there is a pool of water at the bottom. I am assuming a bit of the congealed soap has blocked something. I have put my fingers down as far as I can but cannot feel anything. I have tried loosening things by putting on the drain cycle and pouring in very hot water but to no avail.
Does this sound like something it is worth me calling someone out for or is it better for me to replace the machine?
Thankyou

a repair guy would sort this in under a couple of minutes. however if you can suck out or soak up as much of the water as possible, you can then carefully pour in boiling hot water into the soapbox housing and let it stand for a while. in most cases that will solve your problem.
if you’re a bit more confident, then what i’d do is remove the wire around the door seal and detach the seal from the front panel only. then with machine upnplugged i’d be reaching inside just below the soapbox area where id begin squeezing the black soap hose. (a bit like milking a cow). this will breakup the blockage and allow the water to run into the drum.
then replace outer lip of door seal and of course the wire then youre done.September 29, 2012 at 9:10 am #382060Seamy

Karen, it sounds like the soap has congealed in the soap dispenser to tub hose, in the U of the hose. If you carefully push something flexible into the hole going down from bottom of detergent compartment, when you’ve pulled out drawer of course. This may break up the blockage & allow water to go through, a little hot water poured in carefully of course may help it to disperse, but of course be carefull as we don’t want you getting scalded.
Otherwise its dismantling it & getting inside to the hose.
Power off!
This can be reached by taking off door seal & reaching inside & squeezing hose can cure the problem, again be carefull if theres hot water present. Hope this helps.September 30, 2012 at 4:07 pm #382061newnhak

Hi
Thanks for the replies.
I have tried hot water but it doesn’t seem to shift. I have pushed something flexible into the hole but it meets a dead end not far in so I am assuming there is a U bend there and I cant get the tube I am using round it.
How easy is it to take the door seal off? I would give it a go if anyone has a guide I can follow or video to watch??

oh i think I have managed to do it by the milking method above. Found a video to show me how to remove the retaining spring. If that has worked I will be really pleased. Thanks everyone:-)))
