My tumble dryer (White Knight Sensordry WK447) is running fine, except it started making a loud banging sound as the drum turns. It sounds as there is a pair of trainers tumbling inside drum. It makes this sound whether empty or loaded.
I have been informed it could be a u/s bearing.
If this is the bearing, is it very costly? and how easy for a novice to fit?
It could be the bearing and most are relatively straightforward to replace but it does involve a fair amount of work and stripping the tumble dryer right down, especially for the front bearing.
However, I’d check the exact cause first and make sure that it is that.
Also have a very close look at the centre, back of the inner drum from the door opening, sometimes the rear drum shaft rips away from the back of the inner drum, sadly this is usually BER.
