    Model CANDY GO 292-80.
This machine has started to go on an endless cycle for its initial washing stage (we rarely use the pre-wash) and the only way to complete the wash is to turn it off and then continue by using the Drain/Rinse/Spin cycle. We normally use the Mixed 40c cycle but have tried the Cotton 40c and with the same result.
I have checked the filter which is completely clear. The machine is about 3 years old and has been used only once every 2-3 weeks.

Has anyone had this problem and what was the cause?

Does the water get warm? Best to check on 60’c wash. I have come across candy/Hoover machines that will not finish cycles. This being caused by faulty PCb. Even had a customer tell me her machine was spinning for 24hours straight.

Thanks, Tried that at 60c to check. The result was totally unexpected! I did not put anything into the machine. It started to take in water and then continued to do so. I stopped it when the water level in the machine was over half way up the porthole and *still* filling.
Does that point to anything that you have heard of before?

Sounds like it could be the pressure switch.

Had to call out an engineer. He diagnosed a failure in the selector switch and has replaced that. Is it acceptable for a failure in this component after just over 3 years with minimal usage (average about once every 2-3 weeks)? It wasn’t a cheap purchase.

It depends what you think of as cheap, in the trade Candy are recognised as very much cheap, ‘low end’, for quality. A lot of their current production comes from China. 🙁
