ParticipantHi i am a new poster. i have looked for problem as i have with my Samsung RS21 fridge/freezer 😥 but not seen any so far could someone possibly help,i was away for a week a relative went in to check all ok and found fridge and freezer not cold ie warm ,temp readings said -20 and +2 back home i did diagnostic check ( found how on forum)no faults shown. internal air fan working fine, unit about 9 years old and according to info on forums have been very lucky to have had no probs in that time.Could someone be so kind as to point me in a direction to fix this or offer a good diagnosis what could be wrong,i assume both fridge and freezer went off together so may not be compressor failure more of a control problem, any help would be much appreciated.Thank you

Hi there we have a similar problem our samsung is the rs21 without the water and ice dispenser, but we woke up the other day and both the fridge and freezer were not cold freezer showing 20 degrees and fridge showing 14 done all the normal resets and think i have checked the fuses behind the panel inside the freezer compartment and they all seem ok, any advice would be greatful as it is probably an easy fix if i know what part to replace thanks.

Is your compressor running or do you here a click from it once switched on?

Hi
If yours is one of the very early models try turning off then back on.
The software was supposed to have been changed from a previous model but I have found older ones that still shut down on defrost failure.
If it works then I have a repair kit.

Ian I right in thinking that high temp isn’t falling over a period of time?

The clicking sound is the compressors overload, heating and clicking off. This can be caused by a number of things but usually a failed compressor and would require a new one.
This would require an engineer to call. If you use the find an engineer service on this site, there will be one close to you.

thank you for your ideas on the failure.now found compressor motor overload clicking(cutting power) would you say compressor is 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} had it? ➡ 😥 or by some other means?

A bit more info on possible compressor failure,fridge/freezer switched on and after approx 15 secs compressor runs (no pipes getting warm)until overload pops approx 30 secs later, current draw at compressor 7.5 amps.My question to any expert out there, what would you say is normal current draw? winding ohms are 11.5 (both),data plate info not clear what normal run current is,run capacitor 4.6uF measured (5 uf rated).Just trying to assess if compressor is totaly kaput or any hope of it being another item, any info gratefully received. Thanks
