ParticipantBeko ‘frost free’ fridge freezer model CDA556FW about 3.5 years old. Seems to be running very often, even on its lowest setting (knob on 1) the bottom of the fridge is about -1C.
Ive changed the fridge and freezer thermostats and Ive checked the door seals.
What else should I be looking for?October 2, 2012 at 1:48 pm #382257kwatt

We’ve never sold those thermostats and they’re not known for being a problem.
Are you sure that you have the correct thermostat and that it’s wired correctly?

That’s the freezer safety stat IIRC. 😉
It doesn’t control the temperature in the fridge or have any effect on the fridge so far as I know. I’ll ask Dave to have a look for the fridge stat.

ok thanks, I ordered the fridge thermostat from another supplier – as you say you dont stock those.
I couldnt find anything else wrong so assumed it was the thermostat – it can only be wired in one way due to the shape of the plug.October 2, 2012 at 5:30 pm #382261kwatt

It probably is the thermostat, that’s the most likely problem but there is one in the fridge normally as well as that overheat in the freezer and yes, you can only fit that one the one way, the fridge thermostat you can usually connect wrongly.

Hopefully you have already checked that if theres a fast freeze switch it is’nt switched on, its not on all the range .
Otherwise you could check that the phial of thermostat is properly positioned & in far enough. It sounds like its not in the correct position on the fridge evaporator to sense the temperature.

Did you replace the thermostat with part number 9002756185 as there is a supply issue with it but that is the correct one… ?
