Dont think this model has a drum pick up on it. Just an ntc on the heater box. In what way does it not work on sensor? No go at all? Runs for a bit?

check that the drum band brush is touching the insulated band and that the insulationbetween the tub and band is still insulating.(it tends to warp)

Thanks for replies. I don’t know much details but cust thinks he might be responsible as he was poking vacuum cleaner narrow hose down filter aperture below door and thinks he might have damaged, “a small round silver thing” which he can see down in there.
Or that could be a red herring.
Then again I don’t think they put fish in these things. But he could be a fisherman and left it in a pocket.
Anyway, at least I’m better informed now.

Went to have a look this morning. No pick up brush / band, as Tim said.
Couldn’t figure how it can sense humidity and didn’t want to get in too deep as had to rush home to sign for a parcel. Heater was coming on for a short time on “sensor” position then going off. This was the normal working behaviour I would have expected so I suggested he do a couple more trials and I would return if necessary. I think it might turn out to be an intermittent stat or ntc.
    Mike.
