ParticipantI have a customer with a hotpoint WDL520P which starts then fills, stops filling then drains. It then stops all toghter and all the option lights start flashing. The drum does not turtn at all. The drying cycle will not start and the same lights flash. The spin cycle will not start and the same lights start flashing. None of the vertical progress lights flash. I’m not sure what this error code means. Is the control board that is faulty?
Any advice would be welcome as I am quite new to the trade.
Thanks,
Mark

I cant give you a definite answer to what it wrong, but on these strange faults I would check every part electrically for resistance & insulation. If all connectors have been pinched / tightened then I would look to see if EMW do the boards on this model. (It is always worth paying attention to motor connections as well as door interlock connections).

The modern Arcadia boards don’t give a fault code on the option keys. The Progress LEDS show the fault with a solid led.
So the options will flash and one or more of the progress ones should be lit upThe fault codes run from bottom to top including the door lock, the top led is not included.
Led 1 is the door lock
Led 2 End
Led 3 drier
Led 4 Spin
Led 5 fill.Basic faults are
F01 LED 1 (door lock Led)
F02 LED 2
F03 LED 1+2
F04 LED 3
F05 LED 1 + 3
F06 led 2+3
F07 led 1+2+3
F08 led 4
F13 LED 1+3+4Normal Indesit fault description apply.
My money is on F13 the drier thermistor. They are common. A new design one is available. White rather than black to signify the difference.

Thank you everyone for your very helpful comments. I have checked all the motor connections and the interlock connections and they all seem sound. I will go back and check parts for resistance and insulation. I have checked the motor. The only light that is lit up solidly on the progress lights is the door lock light. This is error code F01 motor triac hort cicuit? I have checked all the motor connections does this leave me with changing the motor module?
Thanks again,
Mark

As that would involve a new PCB, smart card and card reader a better idea would be to send the board to EMW who will test and if required repair it for a lot less money.

I would check the dryer thermistor and the dryer heater 1st these throw up all weird and wonderful faults, just fitted a dryer heater, fault was fills okay then stops, lights flashing and would do nothing else wash, drain or spin. JJ
