The side panels on my SMEG range oven (model: SUK91MFX) seem to have bent outwards. The racks just drop down now, as the gap from side to side is too big.

I need to remove the side panels and bend them in to shape again, but I can’t work out how to remove them. Any advice gratefully received.

    thanks

Usually it’s screws on the back of the panels and they will slide out.

I’ve taken off the screws at the back, but they won’t slide forward as it is blocked by the metal moulding which runs round the hinge holes and all the way up the sides to under the control panel.

It looks as if the whole of the front of the oven needs to come off! Surely that can’t be right?

    Re: SMEG side panel removal

If you’d ever had to strip down some of the cookers, you’d believe that that was entirely possible and from the parts blowout I can’t see how they come off. It wouldn’t shock me though as it’d be very rare you’d have to get in there.

But, I’ve attached the parts diagram it anyway blown up so you can see what there is to see.

Maybe one of the guys know.

Thank you. I’m undoing every screw in site at the moment so the diagram is helpful. If I discover how it’s done I’ll post it back here

    Re: SMEG side panel removal

    hi

did you ever get the side panels off to straighten?

i have exactly the same problem as you.

i can see i will need to take the external sides of the oven off – which probably also means the control panel fascia.

not sure whether to go to all the trouble though.

i’ve put up with the oven for a while now but after a burning incident yesterday i want to get it fixed.

    thanks
