Participanttrying to install new door hinges part number 931331386 brought two
when I press down the long lever one will latch in and then can fit into frame.
the other one wont stay in that position so cant install it, so I ordered another one just the same won’t stay in a latch position !! . its driving me nuts !!
is it me or are these often faulty !! cheers JohnOctober 4, 2012 at 6:09 pm #382414eastlmark

need to insert the 2 pins in the holes to lock down, cannot understand why one has locked-that is probably the faulty one! customer will have been supplied with these when new, no doubt lost since. A couple of smallish allen keys or small screwdrivers will do the job. Need to open the hinge out fully to do so- not easy, I use my foot (if wearing sturdy workshoes) to force it down. Bastard of a job especially if the customer is watching you struggle.
Wondering how you got the door off in the first place?October 4, 2012 at 6:44 pm #382415rocker

Thanks Eastmark, I didn’t take the door off the customer did and managed to bend and damage them, when the outer glass broke. I am trying to install new parts I cant believe how difficult these hinges are.!! thanks for your advice. john

correct hinges then but you must use the pins to re fit them, break off the small locking lever as its not used. I cannot find any instructions to fit from smeg but I know it is a pain and the holes do not line up until the hinge is fully open. The first one I did I gave up assuming they were wrong. I will send you some stuff I have on them that may help. need your email address.

sent last week John, have just re sent. the levers have been deleted, you just need to snap off the ones that any still have them on. Hinges look correct and I can see the hole for the pins in the photos, believe me you just have not yet opened them up enough.
