The shocks on my Siemens XLM1400 (WDXLM148AGB/14) are faulty (leaking oil). I can see from the rear that the lower mounting points are threaded studs and can be unscrewed. The upper mounting points are hard to access and look like some sort of nylon pin. How do I remove the upper mounting pins and can it be done from the rear of the machine ?

You can usually get access to do it but, that isn’t to say it’s easy or that you could really be needing another joint on your arm to do it.

Usually the plastic pins squeeze together to pop out but I’m not familiar with the Bosch ones.

Thanks for your help. If anyone does have more specific info about the pins I would appreciate it.

Replacement shock absorbers come with a nut & bolt fixing kit c/w fitting instructions. The plastic peg is drilled out to accommodate the new fixings. Access gained by removing the front panel by the way.

Thanks, a little more complicated than I hoped as removing the front panel will involve removing the door seal but at least I know what I’m up against.
