    Hi, I have the above washing machine which appears to have a faulty door switch (if you bang the door switch hard the power light plashed on/off and machine starts/stops).

    Can anyone advise me if it would be the door switch or any other part. Advise part number if possible.

    Check the door catch on inside of door, this should be sprung loaded and you should feel some restiance when you operate the door release handle. If this check out the it sounds like you need a new door interlock… Readily available from uk whitegoods..

    Many thanks for that. It is a friend washing machine, so I will have to go round and look at it. I assume it is easy to fit if it is the interlock. I have worked on my Hotpoint and had the front of that without any issues.

    Easy to fit. Remove metal band from around rubber seal, then gently pull seal away.. Then hand in behind interlock, whilst you undo it’s mounting screws…

    then take a note of where the wires go, then replace with the new one and re assemble in reverse order…
