Not exactly a washing machine query but I’m hoping to get some ideas!

We’re remodelling our utility room and we have decided to create a proper laundry area. A washing machine that has been installed under a work surface can be a devil to move.

So does anyone have any ideas on how can we make this as easy as possible?

One (possibly bad!)idea we’ve had is to have a platform made with lockable casters so that the machine can be pulled-out if required.

    Hi Jumty

If the washer is going under a standard height worktop then first off there would not be enough space to add a moveable plinth, even if it were possible you would certainly get noise problems and possible “walking” of castors when machine goes into spin.

I normally use a little washing up liquid smeared on the floor at the front feet, open machine door then place hand/s at twelve o’clock and ease machine out, the washing up liquid acts like sheet ice 😀

There are other ways as mentioned here which may be of help.
