    I just got an email from a client asking if I would replace the bearings on the said machine, I recalled looking at an indesit version of the same and if I remember correctly that the cost of parts can easily pushes the machine into BER threshold. I think there were conflicts on the size of the shaft and brace which threw the w/d into doubts.

    Has anyone actually replace the bearings on the sam model? If so how easy is it, I have a dislikes against integrated washer dryer due to restricted space and awkwardness to remove the drum so I tend to avoid them. I can’t see how this can be done at a customer’s house due to so many pieces as it seems easier to take it away to carry out the repair.

    This’ll help.

    as per the thread.
    Presuming this is the metal tub machine. Relatively easy to get the spider cross piece out but if you’ve never done it before:
    Torx 40s good quality ones
    be careful not to damage the thin metal tub – easily damaged/punctured.
    Gloves: a must otherwise you’ll be leaving lots of claret everywhere.
    Getting the torx bolt on the drum shaft is a battle in itself. Lots of posts on here about using heat and or shock etc to break the threadlock.

    To get the pulley bolt loose –
    Lock the pulley with a length of wood;
    Put a small cut with a cold chisel in the edge of the bolt head;
    Then angle the chisel and hammer the bolt round. They are very tight and will need a few smacks to move. Then you can undo it easily with a torx 40.

    HTH,

    Steve.
