    Hi.

    Changed bag and on switching on motor kicked in briefly (one second) before stopping. Changed plug fuse but unit remains dead.

    Any advice appreciated.

    1: a break in the mains lead

    2: worn carbons brushes in the motor (usually dependant on usage of machine)

    3: if machine is fairly modern and has a gradual speed startup ( then its th circuit board )

    It isn’t ‘1’.
    For ‘2’, when I suggested fitting a new motor my better half laughed!
    ‘3’ sounds terminal.

    Thanks for your feedback but it looks like I’ll be investing in a new one!

    Recommendations welcome (cylinder version).

    Beat cylinder in my opinion is any of the “Miele” range of cleaners

    Too many motor failures of late on Miele cylinders.

    Sebo are still top of the pile by a long way.

    Ive had a few miele cylinders in for motors, usually find they have fitted a pattern filter, after the original miele one has needed replacement..then never bother changing that pattern one ever again…

    Had two in recently, that customers had left the “pattern” filter get so blocked…it had blown open the top cover and snapped the catch off..

    Can honestly say i have never had a SEBO in for repair yet though..
