Last night my Competence Range oven ( unsure of model number but PNC 943254248) won’t get up to temperature after being on for a good hour on the mode Fan/Upper/Lower . What I mean by that is the oven was set to 200 but never managed past 150 ( noted by dialling back the temp gauge till the orange light went out )
So I did some tests and after the oven had cooled I put it back on with just the upper element on and this almost got up to 200 after about half an hour.
I then did the same test with only the lower element but after half an hour the oven temperature had only got to about 10…..
So I assume my fault is with the Bottom Oven heating Element but I can’t work out how to get to it.

Can you help ? Does my trouble shooting make sense ?

I’ve googled alot and no one seems to have a problem with this element and it’s always the fan element

    Thanks for any help

Power off, oven out, back panel off, access then obvious.

Brilliant. Thanks Martin for the super fast reply.

I’ll try that tonight and test the element.

Just a quick follow up no this, you were right of course, once the back was off I could see the back of the element fitting and removed 2 screws/power connectors and it just slid out.

The element was split so definitely the problem so I’ve ordered a new one

    Thanks again
