Summat we all knew already, we can turn it into a marketing campaign to get people to buy a tumble dryer? Electricity is expensive enough as it is so what’s the alternative?

some houses have airing cupboard but they are often turned into a toilet or a storage cupboard after the householder modernised it by removing the hot water cylinder and in some cases the combi boiler take resident in the airing cupboard.

I had a flat in Manchester years ago, it was built in the 70’s, it had a dedicated clothes airer with racks and a heater on the bottom. I used it a a lot but never used the heater as the flat was already warm.

“We asked 100 people and our survey said……..!”

And to think we as tax payers are paying these organisations to carry out these surveys of the bleedin’ obvious. :rolls:

In Glasgow the humidity levels year round average 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} , high enough for any and all bacteria spores to fly around wherever they chose and that’s just outdoors! Stick a pair of Celtic football socks in front of the 2 bar fire in a Glasgow tenement and the same effect is realised. So what’s new?

No clue Mike but they are funded by EPSRC which in turn is funded by the government and thus by us taxpayers.

That’s it then. Nothing we can do. Just have to carry on coughing up for as much of this nonsense as they deem necessary to keep the students out of mischief.

Hopefully not by us English taxpayers, it looks like it came from the Scottish. I think my money is safe. I think it was funded by this…

50-metre rolls of bubble wrap? Metres of polyethylene foam? Packaging tape? Just some of the gifts in kind received by the GSA in the past year. These items, from Macfarlane Packaging, helped to wrap the Mackintosh Building to prevent any potential damage from students as they installed their degree show work.

Every week a breadvan (disguised also sometimes as a butchers or even a icecream van) loaded with dosh goes from the Treasury up to Holyrood. That regular run will cease in 2014 when Alex Salmond is crowned King Alex 1st seated on the Stone of Scone.
