ParticipantI need to remove the side panel to gain access to the connector plug to change the Heating elements but I cant get the top lid off, I have removed the 2 screws at the back of the lid in each corner expecting it to slide back and pull off but nothing.
It lifts from the back but feels like something is holding it in place at the front. I have looked but cant find any other screws, any help to remove the lid would be great.
Thanks.

They can be very tight!
I usually remove tight tops using a rubber mallet, bang away at each front corner,..using short sharp blows…this usually shifts em!
Dont lift the front, just remove the rear screws…and proceed as described..
Hope it works for you!

As above lid does slide to the rear as you expected but it will be tight. A good thump from your palm or from a rubber mallet should do the trick. It’s locked into the fascia aswell as either side panel.

Worked a treat – Dryer element & thermostats replaced and like new.
That lid was tough though – It needed a good few knocks at the front for it to slide back. Thanks for the help, Much appreciated.

People often look at me as if I’m mad when I’m smashing my hand against the front top trying to release it. Easiest way is a straight edge screwdriver between the metal back and lid and prise it back.
But more often than not its the palm.

Been using the palms method for so long, it now hurts my arms doing that…
So hammer or block of wood from now on! LolMartin
