Hi, I’m intending to replace the hot water inlet valve with the “Universal hot water inlet fill valve :code UN7157.” My machine is listed as compatible.

(The problem is a very slow trickle of water from the valve when solenoid energised, clean filter & outlet hoses temporarily removed, good fast incoming hot water flowing from hose into the valve )

Just have a nagging concern about the operating pressure of this replacement valve. My hot water is at a pressure of about 0.3 bar coming from tank in loft. This has been fine before the machine developed the “Taking 30 minutes to fill” fault.
I want to buy a replacement valve that will fill the machine as quickly as possible & was wondering which replacement valve would be best to buy ie the above one mentioned, or would the appropriate Hotpoint valve be noticeably better.
[I’ve discovered that a lot of these valves are made to work at a minimum water pressure of 1 bar ]
    Thanks,Steve

You could try removing the flow restrictor washer, in the new valve if you have problems, take off the fill hose, using some thin, long nosed pliers pull out the gauze filter from the valve and you should see a small, black rubber washer, using the pliers, pull this washer out, refit the filter and try again. I would try the new valve as it is first though, the universal valve should be fine.

Years ago it was possible to buy special ‘low pressure’ valves, now that most machines are cold fill only there is virtually no need for them any more.
