    I have a Bosch Exxcel 1400s express washing machine – model no. WFX145SGB which for the past week has been making a burning rubber type smell and gets louder during the spin cycle…washes and rinses fine though and no marks on clothing. This has been getting worse and few days ago it made some loud noises as well during the spin cycle – I turned the machine off immediately and left it since…

    Today I have taken the back panel off and the belt appears to be in tact and drum is spinning by hand no problem. Connected it all back together and put it on a spin cycle and a normal wash and now it’s not spinning at all and the display isn’t working either.

    Machine is 9 years old.

    Any ideas what this could be?

    Scrap that about the display I have it working again….

    open the door and hold the inner metal drum at the 12o’clock position and try to lift it.If there is any movement up and down the bearings will need changing.
