ParticipantWe purchased our built in F/F over 6 years ago. It has always run cold i.e. down to -10 degrees C although the freezer is OK. Now the PCB is beyond repair. We have had quotes from tradesmen to repair who have told us there is basically no ventilation and that we could have had a fire and that the PCB has ceased because it has had to work too hard. Could someone advise me please?

I think some one is being over dramatic, never seen an integrated fridge catch fire. The worst that could happen is that the fridge would fail prematurely. I think the answer is in the fact that you say it hasnt worked correctly since day one, six years ago!

Thank you. How would ventilation issues like ours affect the PCB?

I dont think they do, i think your fridge has been broke since day 1, why didnt you get it fixed 6 years ago?

We have had it “fixed” several times. New thermostats but it gradually got worse.

Theres your answer. Possibly never fixed properly from the outset. It would be easy to add ventilation, when you buy a new fridge the instructions will tell you what ventilation is required and where.

Have a look at liebherr, bosch, neff, nothing wrong with the AEG though.
