ParticipantHopefully I have posted this correctly. I am new to this.
I have a Bosch WF02264GB 1100 spin washing machine with a motor that will not spin. I thought it might be the brushes. I have replaced them once before. However on this occasion I have checked for voltage across the brushes while machine on spin cycle & no voltage. I then checked the voltage across the plug that attaches to the motor & found a couple of pins with 23V across them. Can anybody tell me what I should be getting on what pins on the connector. I believe this motor should be, at some point, during its cycle registering a 240V supply. I have also noticed that I am not hearing the noise of any possible relays clicking in. This then leads me to think could the motherboard be at fault? If so is it worth replacing. Washing macine is nine years old & well used .Its on its second water pump & door seal.

All I can tell you is that there is no need to do any ‘live’ testing at any time, highly unsafe. 🙁

You are right of couse. Live testing is a tad dangerous. I am electrician by trade but have not practiced for several years & on occasions I had to work on live boards. I do know how else I am suppose to diagnose the problem without checking for voltage.

You can test the motor for continuity, resistance and insulation with megger or multimeter, wiring continuity checks can also be done in exactly the same way. Of course having the tech info does help. 😉

I have a multimeter & realise with the use of a multimeter you can get the required results without live testing. The trouble is I do not know what results I should be getting & on what wires. I went to live testing, which is not recommended, for a quick solution. I suppose what I really need is a circuit diagram.

Let’s look at the facts here first Guy.
9 years old
1 pair of Brushes
2 Pumps
2 Door BootsNow motor doesn’t spin ( presumably doesn’t turn at all though you didn’t say?) and I’m thinking that perhaps a new pair of brushes might be the way forward? Instead you did a little light LIVE testing…. why?….we in the trade don’t when faced with this problem anyway. Whilst my colleague has touched on that subject I will stick to the question over the state of the brushes? 2 pumps, 2 door boots but only one pair of brushes so I’m thinking that I’ve cracked your problem here. 😉
