    had an engineer go out to a miele d/d G653 SCVI and he said it would fill, start to wash for a few seconds, then pause itself, start washing again for a few seconds, then pause again.
    he said that this went on for a minute or two, after which the appliance would stop and the drain/inlet light would flash, along with the power button.
    he says that there is no problem with the drain pump.
    resetting it just produced the same fault.
    any ideas anyone?

    Check the pressure switch on wash pump, after it starts it looks for this pressure switch to be made before it will move on, this is to prevent the heater being switched on without water in. If there was a blockage in the impellor for instance it may cause problem described.
