hello new to this site and thought i would give it a go as im having a problem with my hotpoint washer/dryer which was working perfectly a few days ago until the electric company decided to connect a generator to the lines while they carried out some work in the area unknown to them the generator was faulty and has caused damage to peoples white goods in my area now when i switch on my hotpoint it trips the rcd in my home i was just wondering if anyone on here could let me know what is most likely damaged on my machine due to this as i think it must have been some sort of overcurrent that has caused this but not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure my dyson hoover has also been damaged due to this the motor sounds broke and theres an awful electrical smell coming off it when i turned it on
all this due to a faulty generator any advice would be great thankyou in advance.

Impossible to say without looking, get a decent engineer to have a look and charge it to the people , responsible, assuming of course they have admitted liability.
