Stoves Newhome 058563017 1100Ea SIDL Range

Guys, been to visit one of these Stoves range cookers on friday, no hob plates working and neither is the whole left hand oven/grill – owner tells me its about 12 years old.

I stripped side panel off and can see a whole host of burnt out wiring to the first two switches on the left side. Switches may be ok but I cant see how to remove the left side hob/plates to access the wiring/controls. Usually these just unscrew at the sides and slide out of the way.

I have worked out how to remove the glass top and have removed side screws in the hob but it feels the the hob is still fastened in the center – there is what looks like a trim strip in the middle but seems to be held in pretty firmly and I dont want to force it.

Any instructions knocking about on how to get into these old ranges.
